Christian Action and Community Service

It is the purpose of the Christian Action and Community Service Committee to promote and supervise the cooperation of the church with the social agencies of the community.  This committee aims to stimulate the widest possible interest in Christian action and understanding in such social areas as peace and international cooperation, civic righteousness, community responsibility, racial brotherhood and promotion of human welfare.  Some of the organizations and agencies that we assist include:

Meals on Wheels Volunteers                                                           Prayer Group

The making of a prayer shawl is a spiritual practice
which embodies our thoughts and prayers for the receiver.  It is a gift freely given with no strings attached.  Made in prayer, as a prayer, for prayer,
the shawls are passed on hand-to-hand
and heart-to-heart.
This shawl was made for and presented to Ken Bergdorf’s mother, Clara, at Britthaven.  Two other shawls have been made and given to Addie Alligood and Dorothy Venters.
